These are the “next clicks” runners actually want — build a plan, predict a race, and lock in pacing.
How it works
Enter your distance and finish time to instantly get your average pace in min/mile and min/km. Then choose how often you want splits (mile, km, 400m, 200m).
Use the negative split slider to test pacing strategies — faster finish (negative split) or a slight fade (positive split) — while keeping the same total time. If your distance matches a common race (5K, 10K, half, marathon), you’ll also see an estimated runner percentile.
Race Pace Calculator Features
PRO- Calculates the pace you need for any distance + time.
- Generates a clean splits chart (mile, km, 400m, or 200m).
- Includes a negative split slider to test pacing strategies.
- For 5K, 10K, half, marathon distances, it estimates your runner percentile.

Independent variable: time per mile (left column). Dependent variable: finish time by distance (across).
FAQ
What time formats can I use?
Use mm:ss (24:30) or hh:mm:ss (1:02:15). If you type a single number like 25, it’s treated as 25 minutes.
Can I calculate pace in miles and kilometers?
Yep. Pick miles or kilometers, and you’ll see pace in both per mile and per km.
How do splits work?
Splits break your run into segments (like every 1 mile, every 1 km, every 400m, or 200m) so you can pace more precisely.
What does the negative split slider do?
It reshapes your pacing while keeping the same finish time. Slide left to finish faster (negative split), right to fade slightly (positive split). Green = faster than even, red = slower.
How accurate is runner percentile?
It’s an estimate based on large race finisher results. It’s most reliable when your distance is very close to a true 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon.
